Fire burns on Old Freezeout Hill near Emmett

The fire on Old Freezeout Hill near Emmett has been determined to be human caused. Fire fighters also scaled back their initial estimate of 50 acres to 20.

The fire burned two buildings before crews were able to get it under control.

Firefighters were able to mop up hot spots from the fire Wednesday evening.

The Gem County Fire Department is on scene of a wildfire on Old Freezeout Hill near Emmett.  The BLM, Eagle and Middleton Fire Departments are assisting in fighting the fire.

The BLM tells 6 On Your Side the fire is active, has burned one house, a barn and is currently roughly 50 acres in size.  The fire is burning on private land.  Investigators are on scene trying to figure out what sparked the fire. At this point that remains unclear. No word on injuries.
