The Elmore County Sheriff's Office has located the body of a man who fell out of his raft on the south fork of the Boise River and went missing.

Witnesses reported that a man on a raft with his son was attempting to negotiate the rapids at Buffalo Creek. The raft overturned and floated down the stream. The son was able to swim to safety but the man never surfaced.

On June 28th, rescue personnel located the body of the victim, identified as Richard Arave in a swift area of the river.

Officials are working with The Bureau of Reclamation to slow the water flow to retrieve the body. The recovery is ongoing at this time.
