Intermittent traffic restrictions are scheduled to start Sunday at the intersection of Eagle and Franklin Roads in Meridian, as crews begin installing a new traffic signal.

Preliminary work on the signal will take place throughout the week.

Lane restrictions and flagging will occur on Sunday from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. and Monday through Thursday between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. The existing traffic signal will be back in operation each day.

“Once the existing traffic signal is removed, the new traffic signal will be operation in late October and will accommodate the third northbound lane and a right-turn lane at the intersection,” said Idaho Transportation Department spokesperson Jennifer Gonzalez.

The traffic signal is part of ITD’s project to widen northbound Eagle Road to three lanes between Franklin Road and Fairview Avenue.

The work is weather-dependent.
