Starting Monday, February 15, the Ada County Highway District will close the intersection at Linder Avenue/Main Street/Third Street in Kuna to begin construction on the roundabout.
Two traffic detours will be in place:
· Third Street/Main Street will be detoured to Cleveland Avenue, then to Fourth Street
· Linder Avenue will be detoured to Second and Fourth Streets
“Business and emergency access will be maintained, and detour and business access routes will be posted. The closure will be in place for the next three months. Crews will work between 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Weekend work is anticipated,” said ACHD spokeswoman Nicole DuBois.
Once the roundabout is completed, the intersection will reopen, but additional work will be required on Linder Avenue and Second Street, she added.
The project will include a single lane roundabout at the intersection of Linder Avenue/Main Street/Third Street; sidewalk and bicycle facilities; an enhanced pedestrian crossing at Second Street and Linder; and a crosswalk at Fourth Street and Linder.
The project is designed to improve safety, enhance mobility, and accommodate future traffic volumes, DuBois said.
