Two men have been booked into the Ada County Jail after they allegedly got into an altercation with Boise Police officers trying to arrest them.

About 8 p.m. Sunday, officers were called to the 1300 block of North Hartman Street after a report of a fight.

The calling party told officers Richard Laguna, 26, had reportedly started a fight with a man -- and Laguna was then physically fighting with the man’s brother, identified as Raymond Romero, 21.

Both Romero and Laguna fled before police arrived, according to a Boise Police news release.

Officers later located the suspects nearby on Opohonga Street.

“Police ordered the suspects to stop before Romero began physically fighting with police. Romero also spit in one officer’s face and kneed another officer in the groin. Laguna also resisted arrest,” the release said.

Romero faces two felony charges of assault or battery upon certain personnel, and a misdemeanor charge of resisting or obstructing officers.

Laguna face two misdemeanor charges of disturbing the peace and resisting and obstructing officers.
