The spokesman for Idaho Attorney General Lawrence Wasden has resigned after being cited for marijuana possession in northern Idaho.

Wasden's office announced Wednesday that Todd Dvorak resigned earlier this week.

According to court records, Dvorak was cited for two misdemeanors Friday by Lewiston police for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He has pleaded not guilty to both charges.

Dvorak's attorney did not immediately return a request for comment.

Dvorak had been with the attorney general's office for two years. Previously, he was a former journalist and worked as a supervisory correspondent for The Associated Press in Boise.
