The Ada County Highway District will host a community open house Thursday, March 31, from 4 to 7 p.m. to find out what the public thinks regarding alternatives for the intersection of Warm Springs, Broadway, and Avenue B in Boise, near St. Luke’s hospital.

“ACHD staff would like to hear from those who use this intersection about which alternative they believe would best suit the needs of all users of the intersection,” said ACHD spokeswoman Nicole DuBois.

The open house will be held at the Boise Senior Center, 690 N. Robbins Road in Boise. Discussion groups will begin at 4:30 and 6 p.m.

Based on the comments ACHD received from an open house in October, the project team developed and analyzed five different alternatives. Three of those were recommended for further analysis:

· Alternative A – Bicycle/Pedestrian Improvements

· Alternative B – Intersection and Bicycle/Pedestrian Improvements

· Alternative C – No Build

“The two other alternatives that are not being recommended for further analysis are the roundabout and the split intersection,” DuBois stated.

This intersection has been identified as needing improvement to enhance safety and connectivity for those walking and biking in the area, and to ensure the intersection continues to function for all users with projected growth in the area, she added.

Those unable to attend the open house can still participate in a brief survey which will be available on ACHD’s website, www.achdidaho.org.

Materials from the open house will also be available online by the close of business on Friday, April 1. Written comments can also be sent to the Ada County Highway District, 3775 Adams Street, Garden City, ID 83714.

The comment period will end on April 14, 2016.
