Two E-scooter companies deployed in the City of trees Thursday morning. Lime and Bird both launched and it didn't take long for people to adopt the new means of transportation.
Recently, Lime launched in Meridian and then less than a week later the scooters were paused. That didn’t stop Boise from rolling out the scooters. They seem to be a hit so far, but some say there may be a few kinks to work out.
"It's not bad. It goes faster than you think but it's not too expensive and we came from Ann Morrison and you know we are just going to dinner and it's awesome so far," said Tyler Sanders, Boise resident.
"I did see a couple just left on the greenbelt just kind of blocking off things so that would be annoying if that becomes routine," said Steve Dempsey, Boise resident.
To ride the scooters you must be 18 or older, have a valid drivers license, and you’re asked to wear a helmet. You’re also asked to follow all traffic laws and park the scooters properly by the curbside.
To ride either Lime or Bird, you must download the app to get started. Each of them will show you a map to locate one nearby. The apps ask for a credit card to unlock a scooter.
