Bogus Basin Road should be a little safer for folks heading up the mountain to the ski lodge.

Ada County Highway District celebrated the completion of a roadway maintenance and safety project today with a ribbon cutting ceremony at Bogus Basin Ski Resort.

Improvements include a new overlay, new barriers and guardrails, new concrete curbs, signage improvements, and widened turn-out locations.

"This is why people live here in the Valley. They love places like Bogus Basin. And to be able to get there safely and make sure it's efficient-- I think that's very important," said Paul Woods, ACHD Commissioner.

In partnership with the Boise National Forest, ACHD also constructed a paved trailhead access -- including a comfort station and additional parking.

The federally-funded project is the last of a series of roadway improvements from Harrison Boulevard all the way up to Milepost 16.
