It’s that time of year again for all the midway rides, animal exhibits and insane food choices that draw thousands back to the 10-day Western Idaho Fair every year. Grandstand performers include two blasts from the past, Huey Lewis and the News (Aug. 23) and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts (Aug. 24), along with current country chart toppers Scotty McCreery of American Idol fame (Aug. 22) and Trace Adkins (Aug. 25). A Heavyweight bout grabs the spotlight at CenturyLink Arena when Luis “The Mexican Hulk” Cortez and Ben Beebe square off in the Main Event at Front Street Fights 13: Cortez vs. Beebe, presented by Bodybuilding.com. Cortez (4-5-0) makes his third career appearance at Front Street Fights, coming off a victory at “King of the Cage: Quick Draw” over Ryan Wagner in June. Beebe (7-2-0) makes his Front Street Fights debut, coming off a TKO victory over Steven Mitchell at Gladiator Challenge in June. More info here!

Join Opera Idaho baritone Jason Detwiler and soprano Jena Carpenter reprising the roles of Curly and Laurie in this outdoor concert performance of the classic Broadway musical. This family-friendly, alcohol-free night out will feature food and drinks available for purchase (no outside food or beverages allowed). Take low-back chairs; lawn seating also available behind stage for $7-$10 with audio only, singers are not visible.
