Dan Hawk is from Lewiston, Idaho, a small city in northern Idaho that formally played junior college baseball in El Paso, Texas.
From El Paso, Dan bounced around to play baseball for several colleges and earned an Associate of Arts from Western Texas College. He then moved back to my home state to earn my Bachelor of Arts in Communications at Boise State University.
Ever since he was young, Dan has been fascinated by how television can bring sports to the worldwide public.
While in Idaho, Dan was the video coordinator for the Boise State Women’s Tennis program. He also worked for Peak Broadcasting as a Sports Producer for a successful drive-time sports talk radio show. While learning the ins and outs of media, Dan strove for more, so he began to work for KTRV-12 as a Sports Producer.
Dan has become a recognizable voice to people looking for sports information, as shown by his Idaho State Broadcasters Association Award and the Missouri Broadcasters Association Award.
In January 2012, Dan moved from behind the scenes to an on-air focal point for sports media in North Platte, Nebraska by becoming KNOP-TV’s Weekend Sports Anchor. Then in June of 2013, he became the Sports Director in Joplin, Missouri at KOAM-TV and KFJX.
While in Joplin, Missouri, Dan wrote two football magazines previewing Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma.
In June of 2015, Dan finally moved to Idaho to become the Sports Director for KIVI and KNIN in Boise, Idaho.
