Urgent - weather message national weather service pocatello id 311 am mst fri dec 8 2017 eastern magic valley-upper snake highlands- upper snake river plain-lower snake river plain- cache valley/idaho portion- including the cities of burley, rupert, heyburn, st. anthony, ashton, island park, driggs, victor, idaho falls, rexburg, pocatello, and preston 311 am mst fri dec 8 2017 ...freezing fog advisory now in effect until 10 am mst this morning... * timing...through 10am this morning. * visibility...widespread visibility at or below 1 mile, with local visibility restrictions below 1/4 mile. * impacts...freezing fog can deposit ice on roadways and sidewalks, especially in areas where visibility is significantly restricted. overpasses will be especially vulnerable to collection of ice from the fog. precautionary/preparedness actions... a freezing fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be reduced to less than one quarter mile. if driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you. also, be alert for frost on bridge decks causing slippery roads and overpasses.
