College of Idaho players dominated the weekly Frontier Conference and NAIA National Player of the Week awards, announced by both the league and national offices.
Quarterback Darius-James Peterson was named Frontier Conference and NAIA National Offensive Player of the Week; kicker Kyle Mitchell was named Frontier Conference and NAIA National Special Teams Player of the Week; while defensive end Trevor Henderson was named Frontier Conference Defensive Player of the Week.
Peterson, had a school record 454 yards of total offense in the victory. He rushed for a career-high 230 yards and two touchdowns. It was his second career 200-yard rushing game and his sixth 100-yard rushing game.
Mitchell went perfect 8-of-8 on PAT attempts. He added a 40-yard field goal in the fourth quarter and has now hit 20 consecutive extra point tries.
Henderson had five sacks on the afternoon. The end recorded a pair of sacks and added a forced fumble on the day, helping the Yotes limit Western to just 122 second-half yards.
The Coyotes return to action on Saturday, putting a two-game win streak on the line at Southern Oregon.
