The Boise State Men’s and Women’s Golf team have helped your golf swing all summer and this week is no exception. The coaches help you with your bunker game.
Rookie golfers often ask how far behind the ball to hit in the sand and how you should hit it.
“One of the things about a bunker shot makes it kind of cool you're not actually hitting the ball you're hitting the sand that's going to blast the ball out,” said, Boise State Women’s Head Coach Nicole Bird.
Placement of the ball will help you hit the ball out of the sand trap along with having a good base. It also helps any beginner golfer to shift the weight when you are hitting a golf ball.
“A lot of people are afraid to hit that full swing that if you are taking sand the ball can't go anywhere so you want to make sure you hit it pretty firm," said, Bird.
