The defense also received a blow today as Coach Harsin revealed that redshirt freshman Evan Tyler tore his ACL in his knee against Oregon State.

The freshman started the season opener against Louisiana and had four tackles.  Tyler has played behind Senior Chanceller James the past two games.

Defensive Coordinator Andy Avalos spoke to the media and said Tyler will be missed.

"You know it's just unfortunate.  He was doing a nice job for us and getting some playing time there and some other guys are going to have to step up," said, Defensive Coordinator Andy Avalos.

Looking at the depth at the safeties position Kekoa Nawahine could be the next man up Coach Harsin also added that true freshman Jordan Happle could play as well.   Nawahine played locally at Rocky Mountain High School.

Next Saturday the Broncos could have the services of Dylan Sumner-Gardner back who has been suspended due to NCAA football academic requirements for the first four games. As of now DSG has been working hard in practice according to Coach Avalos.

“Obviously with DSG he got scout team player of the week last week so he's been doing pretty good down there," said, Avalos.
