People from all over Boise put the “pedal to the metal” at Whole Foods today, as the Boise Bike Project held Helladrome. What is Helladrome? The idea is to be similar to a Mad Max Bike Race. There were plenty of twists and turns to go around, all to help raise money for “Riding for the Roof.” The fundraiser by the “BBP” is to add on to the nonprofit’s building, and will add 2,000 extra feet of space.

“All of the proceeds from this year’s Pedal for the People is going towards the BBP’s riding to raise the roof campaign. We’re adding two thousand square feet on to our building, adding a classroom, a new volunteer work area, all sorts of really cool new stuff and we’ve got about 15 thousand more dollars to raise and about nine days to do it, because we break ground on July first. So this is the grand finale event for Pedal for the People and then seven more  days of good time fundraising.”

The new addition will break ground July 1st.
