Boise State redshirt sophomore nose tackle David Moa was named Mountain West Special Teams Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday morning. Moa helped preserve then-No. 14/14 Boise State's 28-27 victory over BYU Thursday night by blocking the Cougars' attempted game-winning field goal with 15 seconds remaining.

In the BYU Game Moa recorded a pair of solo tackles and a sack to bring his season total to 6.5, the highest for a Bronco interior lineman since Andrew Browning had 8.5 sacks in 2006. Moa's drive at the center of the line helped fuel a Bronco defensive effort that recorded 4.0 sacks and 9.0 tackles-for-loss in the win over BYU.

The weekly honor is the first of Moa's career and the seventh this season for Boise State. He is also the second Bronco this season to take home the conference's special teams honor after punter Sean Wale was recognized on Sept. 26.
