Coyotes Headed to California

The College of Idaho baseball team learned earlier this afternoon that they would be headed to Southern California for the NAIA National Championship Opening Round hosted by the No.1 seed Westmont University.

The Coyotes (38-20) earned the No.5 seed in the five team field and will lead the tournament off against No.4 seed William Carey (Miss.) (37-19) at 9 a.m. next Tuesday. The winner will play later that afternoon against the host, Westmont.

The winner of the tournament will advance to the 60th annual Avista-NAIA Baseball World Series in Lewiston, Idaho.

The Coyotes have advanced to the NAIA World Series five times – in 1998, 1999, 2000, 2002 and 2012 – winning the national title in 1998 and finishing as national runners-up in 1999
