The honors keep on coming in for Boise state senior Chandler Hutchison.  Hutchison has been nominated for the Naismith Trophy, an award that only goes to America’s top college basketball player, and is the only nominee from the Mountain West.

Last season Hutchison recorded six games with at least 20 points and 10 rebounds.

Before him, Anthony Drmic was the last Bronco recognized on a national preseason watch list. Drimic was named to the Jerry West Shooting Guard of the Year award watch list prior to the 2015-16 season.

The 6-foot-7-inch guard was named the Mountain West Preseason Player of the Year last month by 24 media members who cover the league. Last season Hutchison was voted All-Mountain West first team, Subway All-District VIII, and NABC All-District 17 first team after averaging 17.4 points and 7.8 rebounds a game.

He is also the first Bronco in program history to record 500 points, 250 rebounds, and 75 assists in the same season.

Boise State will begin the regular season tomorrow at the Taco Bell Arena against Eastern Oregon.
