A three-point shot as the buzzer sounded in overtime appeared to give Boise State a win over Colorado State Wednesday night but officials thought otherwise.

James Webb III received an inbounds pass with .8 seconds left on the clock and banked in what everyone thought was the game winner.  After reviewing the play officials ruled, however, there was a timing error and the clock didn’t start on time, and therefore the shot didn’t leave Webb’s hand before time expired.

Colorado State (14-10, 6-5) went on to score nine straight points in double overtime and secured the 97-93 win.

This was the Broncos’ fourth loss in the past five games.

Boise State (16-9, 7-5) plays again on Saturday hosting Wyoming at 2 p.m.  The game will be aired on the CBS Sports Network.
