Marks-ism pays off for Boise State in huge win
Marks scores career-high in front of sellout crowd
When the Broncos left Boise for Fort Collins in January, Derrick Marks (the team's leading scorer at the time) seemed in perfect health. However, by the time tip-off rolled around, Marks was suffering from flu-like symptoms. He only ended up playing 9 minutes, and BSU lost by 20.
No coughing, wheezing, or sneezing could stop Marks Saturday night.
Derrick scored a career-high 38 points, leading Boise State to a 78-65 win over Colorado State in front of a sellout crowd at Taco Bell Arena. Marks scored 33 of those points in the final 20 minutes, opening the second half with an 11-for-11 shooting performance.
Boise State trailed 36-34 at halftime, after Colorado State closed the final minutes on an 8-0 run.
Anthony Drmic was the only other Bronco to score in double figures, putting up 15 points.
The sellout crowd (11,238) was Boise State's first of the season.
The Broncos (20-8, 8-6 MWC) surge into a tie for fourth-place in the Mountain West Conference with two regular season games remaining. New Mexico (25-4, 12-2 MWC) clinched the conference with Colorado State's loss.
