Jamar Taylor was the first Bronco to hoist the MAACO Bowl trophy after Boise State's narrow win over Washington; an epilogue befitting of the storybook career he put together with the Broncos.

But for Taylor, collegiate football was just a chapter in that metaphorical book, and there are plenty of story lines left to be written in the NFL.

Jamar's journey starts in earnest at Saturday's Senior Bowl All-Star Game, where he'll be the lone representative from Boise State.

"It's been a great experience," remarked Taylor.

"They keep us busy, and we give back to the community, and you have practice with a big group of guys who were all great players in their conference."

That group of players was particularly inquisitive about Bronco Stadium's most renown feature.

"People that haven't played at Boise, all they do is talk about the turf," laughed Taylor.

"Asking questions like 'How do we play on the blue field?' or 'Does it hurt our eyes?'"

When he's not talking turf, Jamar has been conducting interviews with some NFL teams. He can't workout officially for a squad until after the Senior Bowl, but he's heard some good things about his draft prospects.

"[I've] heard everything from 2nd round to 5th round, it depends on who likes you, you know. So I'm just gonna keep on working hard and just try to train to get faster and stronger for the Combine and keep on praying to God, and hopefully something works out."

There are already several former BSU defensive backs in the NFL, allowing Taylor to pick up some tips from the Broncos that have gone before him. He's kept in close contact with that fraternity, especially his former roommates, Jeron Johnson of the Seahawks, and Bengals' safety George Iloka.

"They tell me to keep working hard and just be me," said Taylor.

"Just play my game, have fun, and enjoy it. And when I go to the Combine, just relax and do what I know how to do best, and that's be a football player."
