Jeff Elorriaga was a star at Jesuit High School in Oregon, but when it came time to playing at the collegiate level, few schools were interested.

Jeff had to join Boise State as a walk on in 2010. Fast forward two years, and he's showing just what those other colleges walked away from.

Elorriaga is averaging 11 points and 4 rebounds per game this season, but it's his performance in the Broncos' last three contests that is drawing national attention. Jeff hit 4 threes in the first half against New Orleans, then snapped the Mountain West record with ten triples against Corban.

Coach Leon Rice said the Warriors were probably less upset about his performance than they were about not recruiting him.

Elorriaga sunk 8 more shots from beyond the arc at Texas-Arlington on Wednesday, giving him 42 threes on the year, the 17th-most in the country.

Rice claimed to have seen Jeff's improvement coming.

"Last summer, I sat down with him, and I said 'you have to be more productive, more efficient, and more agressive offensively,'" detailed Rice.

"He can score, he's changed his game, and he's grown... Jeff has earned everything he's got, and that's why he's so good. Every team needs one of him."

Elorriaga has taken the recent attention in stride.

"I've just got the hot hand right now and hopefully the other guys will get it too," said Elorriaga.

"They're giving me open looks and i'm hitting it. If I can carry this into conference, it'll be a little different, but I mean, I'm just trying to help the team win, whatever I can do."
