Boise State to stay in Mountain West Conference
ESPN is reporting that Boise State has decided not to join the Big East conference and will stay with the Mountain West.
"The Broncos' decision on Monday is the latest crippling blow to the Big East Conference, which has had 14 schools announce they were leaving the league in the past two years," said Brett McMurphy with ESPN. "The Broncos will remain a Mountain West member in all sports instead of joining the Big East next year as a football-only member and the Big West in all other sports."
Even though Boise State never played in the Big East, it is reported they will still have to pay the $10 million exit fee. McMurphy said that the MWC is expected to help with the fee.
McMurphy and ESPN did not disclose their sources.
