(19) Boise State defeats Washington, 28-26
(19) Boise State defeated Washington on Saturday to become the first team in MAACO Bowl history to win three straight appearances.
The Broncos beat the Huskies 28-26 via a late field goal from senior kicker Michael Frisina, who was 3-for-3 on the afternoon.
Boise State quarterback Joe Southwick turned in an efficient 26/38 performance, throwing for 264 yards and 2 touchdowns. D.J. Harper rushed for 72 yards on 16 carries, and linebacker J.C. Percy recorded the second-most tackles in Las Vegas Bowl history (17).
Washington running back Bishop Sankey became the first player from a losing team to claim the Most Valuable Player Award. The Husky sophomore racked up 205 yards on 30 carries and scored a touchdown.
Boise State improved to 9-4 all-time in bowl appearances.
33,217 fans packed into Sam Boyd stadium, marking the eighth-straight year that the MAACO Bowl Las Vegas has drawn a crowd of over 32,000.
