MAACO Bowl
Michael Frisina clutch in MAACO Bowl win
Senior kicker: 3/3 in final game
The Boise State football team doesn't have a positive reputation when it comes to clutch kicks.
Perhaps that outlook will change now, thanks to a huge performance from the smallest Bronco on the team.
5'5'' senior kicker Michael Frisina joked with reporters earlier this week about his height, claiming at least one teacher didn't believe he played football.
"He was like, 'are you with the band?'"
Frisina will be recognized around the Boise State campus now, thanks to going 3-for-3 on field goal attempts in Saturday's 28-26 MAACO Bowl win over Washington.
Frisina opened the scoring with a 34-yarder in the first quarter, booted home another 3-pointer in the second, and then clinched the win for BSU with just 1:16 left in the fourth.
"I knew I made it right when I hit it," said Frisina.
"I don't know where it ended up, I just know it went through the yellow posts, and that's all that matters."
Frisina concludes his senior season at Boise State 15-of-20 when attempting field goals, and 42-of-44 on extra points. He was 18-of-24 and 63-of-67 for his career.
