MAACO Bowl happy to have Boise State
Broncos are "known commodity"
The Boise State football program is getting awfully familiar with Las Vegas.
"It's not a complete shock to the system once you get down there," said wide receiver Chris Potter.
"You know some of the in's and out's, and I think it's better because you know some of the do's and don'ts as well."
Executive Director of the MAACO Bowl, Dan Hanneke, is happy to have a "known commodity" back in Las Vegas.
"We had the first choice in the Mountain West, and we had other choices. We chose Boise State," said Hanneke.
"There was a lot of discussion about the other choices we had, and I hope Bronco Nation realizes that. We decided that Boise State would be great for the city, and for the game itself. The matchup is going to be one of the best ones during the bowl season."
"I think when it comes down to a bowl game, we want to play the best team, and Washington was the best team we could be playing and we're excited to get them," said Broncos quarterback Joe Southwick.
The Broncos are making their third straight trip to the MAACO Bowl, and it will likely be their last. The Las Vegas Bowl's contract with the Pac-12 and Mountain West expires after the 2013 season.
Executive Director Dan Hanneke said the MAACO Bowl will re-adress its conference affiliations at that point, but he expects to stick with the Mountain West.
