Broncos defense stacks up well against Hawai'i
Percy recognized with academic honor

Boise State sticks to a simple mantra on defense: play fast, and play smart. Senior linebacker J.C. Percy does both of those things, and on Thursday, he was recognized for the latter.
Percy was named to the 2012 College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-District Team. In the classroom, J.C. has a 3.67 cumulative GPA. On the field, he leads the Broncos with 80 tackles.
Percy earned academic all-league honors in each of the last three seasons. Now his name is headed to the national ballot for Academic All-America honors.
Percy is the lynch-pin for a Bronco defense that is only allowing 14.4 points per game, good for 8th best in the country. That bodes well for Saturday's game at Hawai'i, since the 1-and-7 Warriors have had trouble scoring all year. Believe it or not, Hawai'i's scoring average is actually less than what BSU has been giving up, and the Warriors average margin of defeat is an astonishing 33 points.
Hawai'i Head Coach Norm Chow has spent the week trying to scheme up a way to slow down the Boise State defense, but if his comments are any indication- he hasn't had much luck.
"Come and spend five minutes with me in the tape room," remarked Chow. "They make your heart stop sometimes... You know, you want to turn off the tape."
Chow said the scariest part of watching film on the Broncos is seeing how dominant the front-four has been.
"They're what you'd like to be like. They play like you want teams to play. They're fast. These aren't highly recruited players, [but] I bet they've got two first round draft picks on defense."
