Hightower: "I actually didn't think we'd ever have them."

Z.Z. Top once noted, "Every girl is crazy 'bout a sharp-dressed man." On Saturday, the Broncos will put that adage to the test.

Boise State's football team will wear all black for the first time in school history in their homecoming game against UNLV. In his weekly press conference, Coach Chris Petersen mentioned that his players had been asking to wear black for years. The 2012 team will get the chance to do so.

"They're nice, I like them a lot," gushed defensive back Lee Hightower. "I actually didn't think that we'd ever have them. I never imagined or pictured it."

Coach Petersen revealed the Nike uniforms to his team on Wednesday, well ahead of the University's "Black Out" announcement, with the hopes that the new threads wouldn't be a distraction this week. It may be too late for that, but at least Coach Pete seems to be onboard with the look.

 "Everybody likes it, you know? Women like to wear black... I mean, everybody likes it." Petersen said the fresh uniforms not only appeal to current players, but to recruits as well.

"For me as a coach, it's easier just to stay in two uniforms, home and away... You know, it's not our school color, but that's okay. Pink isn't a school color and a lot of guys are wearing pink to honor breast cancer (awareness), so I think all that stuff is good."
