Boise State ranked in top 25 in first week of BCS standings
Sunday, the Boise State football team debuted at No. 22 in the first Bowl Championship Series Standings of 2012
"The Broncos have been ranked in the BCS Standings for 38-consecutive weeks, the nation’s longest active streak," said Joe Nickell with Boise State. "The streak is also the eighth-longest in the history of the poll."
The Harris Interactive Poll, the USA TODAY Coaches’ Poll and computer rankings each comprise one-third of the BCS Standings. The Broncos came in at No. 22 in the Coaches’ Poll and No. 23 in the Harris Interactive Poll, and have an average computer ranking of 20.
The Broncos scored an average or .1978. They are surrounded by No. 21 Cincinatti and No. 23 TCU.
The Broncos have finished the season ranked in the top 10 of the final BCS standings six times, in 2004, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011.
