Broncos steal the show at Summer Classic
Defense wins 17-16, Southwick repeats in HR derby
40 members of the Boise State football team played softball at Memorial Stadium Saturday night to raise money for the First Tee of Idaho. The Bronco offense took a 16-7 lead into the bottom of the fifth inning, but the defense plated 10 runs in the frame, going on to win 17-16. Quarterback Joe Southwick repeated as champion in the home run derby, belting a record 13 homeruns and defeating former baseball player Hilton Richardson in the final.
