Thanks to a countless number of staff and volunteers, over 300,000 lights are going up at the Idaho Botanical Garden in Boise.

All 18-acres will be covered in Christmas lights for their 20th anniversary of Winter Garden Aglow.

Work is picking up now since they're eight days away from opening night.

The event is one of the garden's biggest fundraisers of the year.

A model train is brought in and serves as one of the main attractions each year.

"It's a great opportunity to spend some time outdoors, to experience the wonder of the garden in the winter and it provides a very great opportunity for the Idaho Botanical Garden to raise funds to help us sustain our garden on an annual basis," says Erin Anderson, Idaho Botanical Garden executive director.

Winter Garden Aglow opens on Thanksgiving in Boise. The nightly event runs through Jan. 1. Santa and "Prancer" visit on the weekends.
