Boise Art Museum Summer Exhibitions Opening Celebration

Boise Art Museum is hosting a summer soiree to celebrate its new exhibitions! Attendees can enjoy drinks and hors d’oeuvres while they take a look at An Intentional Eye: Select Gifts from Wilfred Davis Fletcher, a collection of almost 600 pieces spanning many media and styles; Mapping the Past: Selections from the Thomas J. Cooney Collection, featuring stunning 16th and 17th century maps; and Rick Bartow: Things You Know But Cannot Explain, which includes more than 100 works by internationally acclaimed Northwest artist Rick Bartow, a Wiyot tribe member. The Head and the Heart

It wasn’t that long ago that the members of Seattle’s The Head and the Heart were busking on street corners, strumming their acoustic guitars, stomping their feet and singing in harmony as they attempted to attract the attention of passersby. That unbridled energy informed their earliest original material, which was honed in local clubs before eventually being captured on the band’s 2011 debut album for hometown label Sub Pop. Fat Tire: Tour de Fat

Fat Tire presents the Tour de Fat from New Belgium Brewing! The event will feature world-class acts, top-notch beer, and philanthropic fun. Blackberry Smoke is headlining the show, along with a mix of musicians, performers, vaudeville acts, magicians, comedians, and mind-blowing provocateurs. Everyone 21+ can enjoy year-round beers from New Belgium including their flagship beer, the American craft icon Fat Tire Belgian Style Ale, along with Voodoo Ranger IPA and Citradelic Tangerine IPA. Tour de Fat’s Boise stop benefits Boise Bicycle Project, Southwest Idaho Mountain Biking Association, and Treasure Valley Cycling Alliance. National Arena Soccer: USA vs. Brazil

The U.S. National Arena Soccer Team and CenturyLink Arena have teamed up to bring some of indoor soccer’s best players to Boise for an international friendly, as Team USA prepares to face Team Brazil on August 11th at CenturyLink Arena. This will be the first soccer game ever held at CenturyLink Arena. The game will showcase some of America’s top indoor talent, including several players with Major League Soccer experience and several Idaho soccer products, as part of a three-game tour through the Northwest. New York City based Erin and Her Cello are thrilled to announce that their six member ensemble are back to perform in the beautiful state of Idaho. Erin Hall, singer/songwriter and cellist, is Boise born and raised, but has been writing and performing in New York City for the past 15 years. Their genre crossing music – surf rock, funk, french pop and more – will have you tapping your toes, singing along, and laughing out loud in every performance. “Sounds like? In a twist on the LipsInc formula, the show will feature the troupe’s first cis-woman grand guest entertainer. Mimi Mashuga is an award-winning burlesque artist who has performed internationally! Painting Circle Happy Hour: Tree of Life

No experience necessary! Painting Circle hosts painting classes, painting events and painting parties at local bars, lounges and restaurants. Creative paint and sip classes are taught by an artist walking you step-by-step through the process of recreating a painting from scratch. You create your own painting to take home! Painting parties include all the necessary art supplies for an easy going 2 hour session. Learn how to paint! This is not a BYOB painting class.
