Police arrest a man following a stand-off Monday afternoon at a Nampa apartment complex.

Officers arrested Mario Garza, 19, who was wanted of felony aggravated assault in connection with a shooting last week at a Nampa parking lot.

Garza surrendered to police following a stand-off that lasted about two hours.

Officers went to the complex to serve a search warrant. Witnesses said Garza initially refused to come out of an apartment.

Detectives went to the complex as part of their investigation into the shooting at a Walmart store on Garrity Blvd. about 10 p.m. Wednesday. They say Garza exchanged gunfire with Ezri Garcia, 21, in front of the store, after the two got into an argument.

Garza was later booked into the Canyon County Jail.

A 10-year-old girl waiting to watch fireworks at the God and Country Rally at the nearby Idaho Center was struck by a bullet. Her injury was not life-threatening.

During Monday’s stand-off, the main entrance to the complex was blocked –- vehicles were not being allowed in, and yellow crime scene tape kept tenants and bystanders at a distance.
