The Ada County Coroner has released the name of the man killed in a motorcycle crash on Cole Road Thursday morning.

Coroner Dotti Owens says Aleksandr Tymoshchuk, 23, died of blunt force trauma when the motorcycle he was driving collided with a pickup truck.

The accident happened about 8 a.m. near the LDS Temple, just north of Interstate 84.

Police blocked all northbound and southbound lanes of Cole Road to investigate the accident.

Preliminary evidence indicates the truck was traveling southbound on Cole Road. The driver attempted to turn eastbound onto Brentwood Drive. “As the pickup was about to complete the turn, it was struck in the rear side panel by the motorcycle, traveling northbound on Cole,” according to a press release from the Boise Police Department.

Tymoshchuk was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers said he was not wearing a helmet. Speed is being considered as a possible cause of the crash.

The accident is still under investigation.
