TWIN FALLS, Idaho (AP) -- A Twin Falls man has been charged with theft after he was found trying to pawn sound equipment that was reported stolen from a Jerome church.

The Times-News reported that the 42-year-old was arraigned Monday on felony grand theft by possession and a misdemeanor of providing false information to police.

According to court documents, the man is accused of trying to sell about $5,000 worth of equipment that belonged to the Life Church of Magic Valley. The church is one of several that have been burglarized recently.

Pawn shop employees called police, saying the man was acting suspiciously and his story for how he acquired the $4,000 sound board he was trying to sell made little sense.
