A suspect in a Sunday burglary and shooting in Boise has been arrested.

Andrew Dechambeau, 29, of Boise was arrested early Monday morning and booked into the Ada County Jail on charges of felony aggravated battery and burglary.

Boise Police were able to identify the suspect after following up on numerous tips from the public.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting at the intersection of 27th Street and Stewart Avenue just after 7:00 a.m. Sunday and located a male adult with a single gunshot wound.

Reports indicate a man was burglarizing a home on the 2600 block of Regan Avenue prior to the shooting.

The homeowner confronted the burglar, who ran away from the home with stolen property.  Police say the homeowner chased after the suspect, confronted the burglar again at 27th and Stewart, when the suspect reportedly pulled a gun and shot the homeowner and fled the scene.

The victim returned to his home where he was contacted by police. Paramedics arrived and transported the man to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Officers quickly set up a perimeter around the area and conducted an extensive area search, including the use of a K9 to attempt to track, but the suspect was not located at that time.

The investigation is ongoing.
