Saint Alphonsus is breaking ground on a new addition in the parking lot of the current St Al's campus on 12th Avenue in Nampa.

The two-story hospital is expected to open in 2017. It is expected to offer 8 in-patient beds, and the hospital says it has 3 main goals: lower cost, better care and health for patients.

Karl Keller, the President of Saint Alphonsus Nampa and Ontario, says patients will benefit from efficiency gains that will be realized as lower costs.

The facility will offer emergency, short-stay inpatient, and radiology services along with primary care services relocated from the current clinic on Iowa Avenue in Nampa.
