Senate President Pro-Tem Brent Hill will be Idaho's acting governor through Friday afternoon.
The Idaho Statesman reports that Governor “Butch" Otter is in Washington D.C. for the presidential inauguration, while Lt. Gov. Brad Little is in Las Vegas for a shooting and hunting trade show.
This means Hill, who is third in line to the governor, to serve as stand-in head of state.
Little will return to Idaho at midday on Friday.
Hill says that this is the first time he's served as acting governor -- while the Legislature is in session -- during his six years as leader of the Idaho Senate.
Senate Majority Caucus Chair Todd Lakey, a Republican from Nampa, will preside over the Senate Thursday and Friday.
