Search efforts are set to resume today in the Sawtooth Wilderness Recreation Area for a missing hiker.

The Elmore County Sheriff’s Office, Elmore County Search and Rescue, Idaho Mountain Search and Rescue, Blaine County Search and Rescue as well as two Idaho National Guard UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters all searched the Sawtooth Wilderness Recreation Area on Sunday and will continue today.

The missing hiker, who was alone, started at the Queens River trailhead near Atlanta but didn’t return as planned.

The hiker’s personal satellite beacon last provided a location on Wednesday.

Crews, including search dogs, were deployed in the Elk Lake area of Boise County.  A helicopter with infrared technology searched the Queens River Trail area and the trails near the Payette River’s South Fork.
