A bill to make certain robots "street-legal" rolled through the Idaho House Transportation Committee on Tuesday.
House Bill 204 would define and regulate "personal delivery devices" operated by the company Starship. The bill sets standards for how they would operate and legalizes their use on sidewalks.
David Catania, a spokesman for the company, says users would be able to order packages or groceries online and track every step of the delivery process via an iPhone. A user could unlock the robot with their iPhone and send it back all through the push of a few buttons
The bill now heads to the House floor for a vote.
