Twenty years ago Wednesday, Boise Police Officer Mark Stall sacrificed his life protecting the community he loved.
Stall is the only Boise Police Officer to be killed in the line of duty.
Wednesday night a remembrance ceremony was held at the very spot where the officer laid down his life.
Speakers included his father, Capt. Ron Winegar who was also shot that night but survived and Boise Police Chief William Bones.
Before the night was over, everyone lit candles and said a prayer for Mark.
It was made clear several times throughout the night that it wasn't a time to be sad, rahter a time to reflect on the person that Mark was.
