The Treasure Valley isn't the only place in Idaho experiencing a booming real estate market.

Realtors are seeing a double-digit increase in home sales in the McCall area.

From its scenic views to its outdoor recreation, Valley County's real estate market is booming.

"We've seen a big, very big increase in sales in McCall this past year," said Steve Jones, associate broker for The Jones Group and McCall Real Estate Company. "...not just on the lake, but a couple of other parts of our market, as well."

2017 was a good year for McCall's lakefront properties, up 75 percent in sales and about 40 percent in price.

Home sales in Donnelly and Tamarack Resort areas were up nearly 60 percent, as well.

The numbers do not include state-auctioned properties.

"As Boise goes, McCall goes, that's the old saying up there," Jones said. "Not all of our buyers come from Idaho, but the vast majority do."

Experts predict the upward trend in pricing, coupled with growing sales volume, will continue into 2018.

"It's causing people who have been looking to say, 'I better make up my mind and buy now, because I don't want to buy while the prices continue to go up,' so we're seeing a lot of people making decisions based on that," Jones said.

This past October, two lakefront homes sold in McCall for $4.25 million and $4.3 million, respectively. Realtors say they hadn't seen a Payette Lake sale for that amount in seven years.
