Crews from the Boise Police and Boise Fire Departments discovered a body floating in the New York Canal Friday morning. Crews responded to the area south of Boise shortly before 9 a.m. A dive team searched the water between Cole to Maplegrove Roads. The body was later discovered downstream.
The Ada County Coroner's office has identified the body as 37-year-old Melissa Mariscal of Boise. Mariscal has been missing since October 1st.
The cause of death is still under investigation and an autopsy will be performed. No foul play is suspected at this time according to the coroner's office.
