A Meridian man is in jail after police say he tried to procure a woman into prostitution.

Garden City Police arrested Joshua Shook, 41, Tuesday at his business in the 4800 block of Chinden Blvd.

In August, detectives received a citizen’s complaint that Shook allegedly offered a woman money for sex. “His inappropriate behavior led us to believe he was wanting to put the woman into the prostitution (lifestyle),” said Garden City Police Department Sgt. Tyler Domeny.

Investigators later obtained a warrant for Shook’s arrest.

“At this point, it’s hard to tell if there are other victims out there,” Domeny stated.

The investigation is ongoing.

Shook was booked into the Ada County Jail late Tuesday afternoon on a felony charge of procurement of prostitution.

If you have any information about this case or about Shook, you are urged to contact the Garden City Police Department at 472-2950.
