Meridian Police are investigating a threat directed Wednesday morning at Meridian High School.
According to students, a “Creepy Clown” posted to Instagram they were going to “kidnap and kill students who were not following them on Instagram. This was the same verbiage in a threat directed towards Heritage Middle School on Tuesday (of this week),” said Meridian Deputy Police Chief Tracy Basterrechea.
“It appears the post was taken down shortly after it was posted,” he stated.
Meridian Police are investigating – but do not believe there is any credibility to the threat.
“This is part of a national trend which is taxing police resources throughout the country. Meridian Police take all of these threats seriously and investigate them as such,” Basterrechea added.
