Two Meridian residents are in the Ada County Jail, each charged with felony injury to a child, after police say they found deplorable conditions in their home.

Joshua Rose, 38, and Heather Manning, 29, were arrested without incident Sunday afternoon.

Acting on a tip from Idaho Health and Welfare officials, Meridian Police officers searched the couple’s home in the 300 block of East Gruber Street.

“Officers found trash in several rooms of the house, clothing on the floor, soiled mattresses and the smell of urine,” said Meridian Police Deputy Chief Tracy Basterrechea.

A six-year-old male child was removed from the house and is being cared for by family members, Basterrechea added.

Rose and Manning are scheduled to make their initial court appearances Tuesday afternoon at the Ada County Courthouse.
