CALDWELL – The suspect accused of stabbing a man in a home on Saturday was arrested and taken into custody.

On Saturday, November 14, 2015, Caldwell Police officers responded to the trailer park near East Elgin and N. 13th Avenue where a stabbing occurred. The victim, identified as 35-year-old Noe Garcia, had his throat cut while holding a small child. The suspect, who is the victim’s brother-in-law, Bruce Wayne Costa fled the area prior to officer’s arrival.

Police said the altercation was allegedly over the use of the victim’s vehicle.

On November 16, 2015, at about 10:10 p.m., Caldwell City Police located Costa at a local hotel and took him into custody.

Costa was charged with aggravated battery and felony injury to a child. He is currently held at the Canyon County Jail on $500,000 bond.

The child was not injured during the altercation, but was present under the circumstances and conditions of the aggravated battery, according to the Police.
