Pocatello traffic stop leads to marijuana arrest

A California man was arrested for marijuana trafficking during the traffic stop north of Pocatello on Friday.

On November 11, 2016, at about 11:25 p.m., the Idaho State Police conducted a traffic stop on a 2016 Ford Explorer traveling northbound on Interstate 15 near mile marker 73, one mile north of Pocatello.

During the traffic stop, 125 pounds of marijuana were seized. The driver, Nathan Thao, 37, of Fresno, California, was arrested and booked into the Bannock County Jail for marijuana trafficking over 25 pounds.

The estimated street value of the marijuana is $500,000.
