Overnight accident leaves motorcyclist dead, passenger seriously injured

A female passenger suffered serious injuries

BOISE - A motorcyclist is dead after an overnight collision on the Boise bench.

According to Boise Police, officers responded to a motorcycle versus vehicle crash near the intersection of Vista Avenue and Cassia Street just after 12:30 a.m. on Saturday morning.

A press release issued by Boise Police states initial witness reports indicated a motorcycle driving southbound on Vista ran into the side of an SUV which was attempting to make a left-hand turn. Sadly, the adult male driver of the motorcycle was pronounced deceased on scene.

His passenger on the motorcycle, an adult female, suffered serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital.  Neither the driver of the motorcycle nor the passenger were wearing helmets.

The driver of the SUV, an adult female, was not injured in the collision.

A Boise Police crash scene reconstructionist also responded to the scene.The investigation into the cause of the crash remains ongoing.

The Ada County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased motorcycle driver pending notification of family.
